Duygu HANIM, born in Hatay, is a computer engineer with a degree from Kocaeli University and 15 years of software experience. Despite facing workplace bullying, she persevered, founded her own consultancy, and joined global projects. Guided by her motto, “I walk with the light I carry inside”, she inspires young women to follow their own path.
Born and raised in Hatay, Duygu attended a science high school as a boarding student and graduated in Computer Engineering from Kocaeli University at the age of 20. After around 200 job interviews, she landed her first role but faced severe workplace bullying. Taking a month off, she improved her English and technical skills, then joined Pirelli, where a supportive environment reignited her passion and led to a promotion. She worked for seven years at a major tech company before founding her own consultancy just before the pandemic. She has since contributed to US-based projects and achieved international recognition in software, with a tool she developed from scratch now used by thousands of engineers worldwide. Duygu believes women in engineering must be more visible and encourages young women to be bold, speak up, and continue on their path with determination.
